Code of Conduct

Greetings to all dancers! We are very glad to have you on board!

Here we have prepared some general guidelines in hopes of accommodating everyone’s comfort and wellbeing during our event and we wanted to make sure we dance with each other joyfully throughout the event. Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for anyone regardless of age, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion, ability and appearance. We root for equality and unity.

Ground Rules

  • Respect yourself, your partner and those around you. Bear in mind boundaries may differ from person to person. Keep good faith and trust in communication, if something doesn’t feel right – speak up. Our staff will always be available in case you need help.
  • Rules are sometimes meant to be broken, as long as it feels comfortable to you, to your partner and the people around you. Simply be mindful when making an evaluation of the moment.
  • Want to dance with someone? Take initiative, and invite them.
Do so politely, don’t sit around waiting for the other person to ask you. Remember the familiar feeling of shyness and try breaking it.
  • Remember to be mindful of others when entering shared rooms. Keep the noise at minimum at night to avoid interrupting others’ rest. Respect personal space and make sure you communicate each other’s needs with your roommates.
  • Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. We will try our best to take your shared room preferences into consideration. If at any point you feel uncomfortable with your roommates, please contact our team. We will find you the best solution possible at the moment.

Maintain Good Personal Hygiene!

  • Bring deodorant, use breath mints and shower before the dance. We will make sure of having various products available in the venue for general usage as well.
  • Always bring a spare shirt or two. The goal is to soak them in sweat by the end! You will have time to go back to your room and change during the party if you need to.
  • We’ve all got the swing bug, but GERMS!
Germs are not something we need to share. If you have to sneeze or cough – do so into your arm, not your hand. Use hand sanitizer and wash your hands throughout the evening. Sanitary products will be available for usage at all times in the venue.

Be at ease and help others to be so

  • Connect with partners the way you’d like to feel connection yourself.
If a partner uses an unpleasant or hurtful connection consistently, please let them know. While doing so, please bear the good faith in mind. The staff is always available if you’d like to consult them.
  • Avoid unsolicited feedback or instructions.
Do not correct others’ dancing unless you were specifically asked for feedback. If your partner opens up to hear you, remember to be kind.

Kindness Is The Key

  • The song is over?
Thank your partner for the dance in your own way. A warm smile, a hug or a simple high five is a nice way to communicate your appreciation of the experience. Remember to evaluate the nature of each experience and choose accordingly. If you’d like, invite them for another dance and bear in mind that there is no right number of dances to be a fulfilling experience.
  • Everyone has the right to say NO to a dance.
That might be for any reason. In most cases, the reason isn’t personal. Smile graciously and bow out, there are and will be plenty of other opportunities.
And in case you do say NO, remember to do so politely.
  • Having fun?
Smile! Maintain some eye contact during the dance. Use moderation – constant eye contact can feel creepy, no eye contact at all might feel impersonal.

On The Dance Floor and Beyond

  • With the exception of jam circles and performances, absolutely NO AERIALS on the dance floor! Packed venues are dangerous to perform such moves both for the participants of the moves and the ones around them.
  • Accidentally kicked or hit someone while dancing?
Apologize, accidents happen! If a person consistently dances in a dangerous way, bring it to their attention or let the staff know.
We are all here to have fun! Enjoy yourself and do your best to make the evening fun for others as well!
  • Avoid wearing spike heels or being barefoot, protect yourselves and others around you.
  • When a jam circle forms, anyone can join to exhibit their skills and perform. When you enter the circle, be considerate of those who enter before and after you, give it all you’ve got! If you don’t feel like being in the spotlight at that moment, remember the circle is a big part of it! Feel free to join the circle and clap the hell out of the song!
  • Personal Space
Protect yours and be mindful of others’! Both partners should take responsibility for protecting themselves and each other during the dance. Be prepared to stop in case of a possible collision. The Big Bang happened billions of years ago!
  • Unintentionally touched or grazed someone’s private areas?
Apologize! If inappropriate touching persists, bring it to that person’s attention, or the staff’s.
  • Intentional verbal or physical abuse (touching, cursing, etc. ) is unacceptable in and out of the dance floor. Offenders may be banned permanently. We have a specific team in order to make sure these situations are taken care of with sensitivity and diligence. Confidentiality of the reporter is assured. Feel free to reach out at any point.
